November Monthly Meeting Saturday 8th

We had November's meeting at Pam's house in Lake Havasu. Plans for the Christmas party were finalized and Shannon handed out the invitations. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed eating breakfast outside on the patio. Ashley was a special guest, she is in Havasu this week and will begin flight training with Shannon-how exciting! And it was so nice to have Tookie back from her lonnnggg vacation.

London Bridge Days Parade Sat Oct 25th

I love a parade! Don't you? Especially when we win a Ribbon for our entry!

Jan and Gary Riley built us the most wonderful radial engine airplane golf cart and we tied it into the parade's theme of celebrating 30 years of incorporation by remembering McCulloch's "Flights to Paradise" in the Lockheed Electra to the old island airport. Shannon's parents and Dianne Tobin's family were some of our own that came here on those flights. How brave!

We met behind Smith's at 8am to be ready when the judges came by to review our entry. The parade was so large this year that we didn't begin walking until after 11am! We used the time while we were waiting to go over plans for the Christmas party. It's important that everyone get their invitation list into Shannon as soon as possible. This year's party will be the invitation you want to receive! We are holding the party at the London Bridge Resort on the night of the Boat Parade of Lights. Our room has a balcony running the length of it, overlooking the channel and the London Bridge-the most perfect spot.

All that parading really worked up the appetite and we met at Barley Brothers for a delicious lunch before heading down to Rotary Park to collect our Ribbon. What a great time we had!

October Pancake Breakfast

Thank you all so much for supporting our Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser! We served over 200 people and had the best time! Many thanks to D-2 Aero for hosting the event at their FBO, and to Denny's of Lake Havasu for the best pancake batter ever, Bob McGlory & Ed Weber & Bi-Plane Rides of Havasu for the Stearman rides, Bob Hancock & Golden Wings Flying Club for the Discovery Flights, piloted by Jeff, Shannon & Joe, the EAA & CAP for always stepping up to help us with logistics of putting on a party, and all of you that brought out your airplanes for the static display.
