2008 SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

GENERAL APPLICANT CRITERIA

1. U.S. Citizen

2. At least 18 years of age (exceptions considered for outstanding 16 or 17's)

3. Proficient in English-must be able to read, speak, and understand English.

4. Agrees to complete certificate within one (1) year of receipt of scholarship award

5. Rio Colorado connection=either residing or studying in our geographic area

6. Additional criteria specific to each scholarship

 

APPLICATION PACKAGE:

Official application form specifying which scholarship

Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from someone knowledgeable about your aviation interests and/or accomplishments

Budget information. Please provide a budget of anticipated expenses for the rating sought, anticipated funding to meet these expenses, and indicating whether you own or intend to rent an aircraft. The list of expenses should be signed by the flight school or independent instructor you plan to use to obtain the rating. The list of funds should include any other anticipated financial aid. If there are any special circumstances regarding your financial need, briefly list them.

In no more than 500 words, address your personal interests; general and aviation goals; how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals; what sparked your initial interest in aviation; your participation in aviation activities (including employment); how you plan to contribute to the Ninety-Nines and the aviation community in general; any special qualifications you ma have with regard to aviation.

Financial need as demonstrated in budget submitted

Personal Essay

Letters of Recommendation

Ability to achieve goals
