Rio Colorado 99s

Welcome to the Rio Colorado 99s website!

The Rio Colorado Chapter of the Ninety-Nines aviation club is part of an international group of female aviators rooted in the history of, and with traces back to, Amelia Earhart. We are a chapter of The Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots. As a licensed woman pilot (current or not) you are invited to become a part of our legacy as the first and only international organization of women pilots. The Ninety-Nines are a positive force in the aviation community and we invite you to partake in all that we can offer. Please take a few moments to look around and get to know us.

Recent Events:

99s Annual Christmas Party

We all gathered at Shugrue's Bridgeview room for our annual Christmas party. The tables looked elegant with centerpieces made by Pam Forrest. We had an hour to socialize before our magnificent Shugrue's buffet of prime rib and lemon chicken, and a wonderful tableful of desserts made by Valerie. Jeff Miller provided the Christmas music throughout the evening and had us up dancing after dinner. We had a very successful silent auction, with gifts from local businesses including Desert Skies Executive, Arizona West Coast Aviation, Havasu Seaplane Adventures, BiPlane rides at Havasu, just to name a few...

Save the date for next year! We will again be at the Bridgeview room on Dec 3rd, the first night of the annual Boat Parade of Lights under the London Bridge.

Pancake Breakfast at D-2 Aero in Lake Havasu

We had beautiful weather and a great turn out for our Pancake Breakfast on Sat Nov 14th. The Civil Air Patrol Cadets helped us put on the breakfast and the money we raised with help with their programs. We had a 50/50 raffle also and Austin Dane won!

Rio Colorado 99s go to the movies!

Sunday was much to windy for flying, so we all got together to go see Amelia. Great movie!

Sherri was lucky enough to have the movie theater give us the Amelia poster-come check it out in hangar 75. We've been busy redecorating.

London Bridge Days Parade: We won first place in the decorated vehicle category!
